My name is Sophia Black. I am a second semester freshman at James Madison University. My family lives in Fairfax, VA, but that is far from where I spent most of my life. I was born on the island of Oahu in Honolulu, Hawaii. While living there, my father was often away at sea on Navy missions, so my mother and I spent our days on the beach playing with our three pups. Our family then moved to California, and then Washington state. Ever since I was young I have had a real passion for all animals, I went vegetarian when I was 10 years old! I had a horse girl phase and was desperate to just spend time with any type of animal. When I got older, I developed an addiction to Animal Planet and would watch it for hours on end. I learned a lot about extinction and species that are endangered. This was something that really grabbed my interest because I know there are ways to prevent this. In my blog I hope to inform and educate you all on the basics of endangered species, and any updates or solutions to the problem.
